Igedo Selected Show x Düsseldorf Fashion Days

27/07/2024, 5:45 pm

This summer, the Düsseldorf Fashion Days once again went beyond the pure collection order and put the spotlight on local retailers and exciting brands in a “Festival Edition”. Under the umbrella brand DFD, the Düsseldorf Economic Development Agency launched a comprehensive location initiative that creates strong synergies between brands, retailers and visitors and puts the fashion feeling in the city in the foreground. As Igedo Exhibitions, we and our team were responsible for the show production of the fashion shows on Corneliusplatz. We staged a total of 8 different fashion shows.

In keeping with our two fashion fairs and events, which took place in parallel, we presented the best of both worlds, FASHN ROOMS and Neonyt Düsseldorf, in the ‘Igedo Selected Show’. Contemporary and design collections shared the stage with sustainable brands from the innovative Neonyt Düsseldorf platform. This was a direct link to the history of the fashion capital. Fact: The first fashion show on Königsallee was also organized by the Igedo in 1949, exactly 75 years ago.

Green New Deal, ERP, recycling quotas, Ecodesign, DPP, … the new EU laws and regulations will massively change the fashion landscape.

What challenges lie ahead?
Who is already active?
Who do I need to network with in the future?

The Green Product Award Network (Berlin), Fabriek Fris (Netherlands) and Igedo Exhibitions (Düsseldorf) addressed these questions at Pit Stop No. 1 of the Circular Circuit Initiative. The cooperation is supported by the Dutch fashion and textile association MODINT.

In the Netherlands, the legislation is already in force, in Germany “only” in a few months.

On Friday, 26 July 2024, the Igedo Exhibitions’ Fashion Aware Club took place in the Ruby Carl Workspaces to exchange experiences and formulate theses for successful collaborations.

On Saturday, 27 July 2024, THE STAGE provided an insight into the future circular fashion system with a summary of the workshops and best practices from participants. And here is the project website: www.circularcircuit.com

FASHION AWARE CLUB der Igedo Exhibitions!

Neonyt Düsseldorf x Ruby

On 18 April, we immersed ourselves in the world of sustainable fashion during the FASHION REVOLUTION WEEK. We transformed the beautiful Ruby Carl workspace in Düsseldorf city centre into a place of creativity and inspiration.

💥 We had a great programme with inspiring speakers and keynotes.

  • Keynote: “It’s all about a Fashion Revolution” by Dr Monika Hauck, Founder & CEO of Repair Rebels & City Ambassador Fashion Revolution
  • Panel discussion on the topic of “Düsseldorf – A sustainable city” with Ulrike Kähler, Managing Director of Igedo Exhibitions, Ole Friedrich, Managing Director of Düsseldorf Tourismus GmbH, and Luise Barsch, Marketing & Account Executive Germany at COSH!
  •  Expert discussion and Q&A session with Lavinia Muth, sustainability advocate & consultant

In addition, visitors were able to take part in various workshops and use a Clothes Swap Area.

Special thanks to our sponsors: COSH!, Dainty Dystopia, Fashion Revolution, Prym, Repair Rebels, Ruby Carl and Visit Düsseldorf.

Green Product Award Fashion 2024

The Green Product Award Fashion is part of the Green Product Awards, which has been honouring sustainable, innovative products in 13 categories for over 10 years.

Since 2023 July, the Fashion Award has been presented every six months at Neonyt Düsseldorf as a cooperation between the Green Future Club and Igedo Exhibitions.

An international jury of experienced experts evaluates the submissions according to the criteria of approach, elaboration, impact, design, sustainability and innovation. We were delighted that our exhibitor Natural Nuance Design has won the Green Product Award Fashion 2024 in the accessories category.

To mark the 2024 award, a fashion show was held for the first time, at which the students of the 3rd semester of fashion design at Macromedia University of Applied Sciences Berlin presented a sustainable capsule collection.

Here you can find the  winners (outlined in green) for the 2024 award cycle.
